"Titanic" is populated
with many talented actors, both young and old. There are screen veterens
and Oscar nominated and award winning performers. The talent shows
in the raw emotion the audience observes during the course of this film.
Each of these actors deserves commendation for their portrayals.

Kate Winslet plays the spirited, vibrant
Rose DeWitt Bukater. At seventeen, she is too young to feel her life
is as good as over. Jack Dawson ses that and sets out to save her
in every sense of the word. This is my favorite character from the
movie because in her, I saw the most change. Kate is a wonder and
deserving of any awards she might recieve.

Leonardo DiCaprio plays the twenty-year-old,
free spirit Jack Dawson. Jack is an artist who lives his life the
best way he knows how, which is usually on the move. He won his ticket
on "Titanic" in a lucky hand of poker. A very lucky hand. Leo plays this
role with suprising ease and calm, giving Jack a gentle, yet wise demeanor.

Billy Zane of "Phantom" fame comes off
as the perfect arrogant jerk in "Titanic". He is Rose's snobbish
fiance who uses his wealth to buy himself affection and admiration as well
as his life. Zane carries off his characters arrogance perfectly
until the audience is ready to climb up into the screen and wring his neck.

Kathy Bates lights up the screen once
more, this time as the infamous "Unsinkable" Molly Brown. Bates takes
charge of Molly and the ship and the audience immediately falls for her
warm personality and witty remarks. Bates shows her Oscar award winning
talent without stealing the screen from the two lovebirds. Instead,
she infuses the film with smiles and laughter.

Gloria Stuart delivers an outstanding
performance as old Rose Calvert. Although old Rose is over 100 years
old, Stuart still injects a sense of vitality and spirit into her character
as if at heart Rose never really changed. She still has spunk and
defiance and good old-fashioned mischieviousness. For this role,
Stuart is very much deserving of an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Bill Paxton plays the fortune hunter
Brock Lovett, who is in desperate search of a giant blue diamond called
"The Heart of the Ocean". The one thing he's missing is the heart
of the Titanic and through Rose, he is able to learn about it in a way
he never was able to do on countless dives to the old wreck.
